My first watercolor

Inspired by Maniam selvam, one of the finest artist in South India, I wanted to make a try of his painting published in a local magazine.
I enjoyed painting  each and every inch of it.. and itz my final out come

Acrylic on paper

After a time consuming painting of an indian god, I thought to make a quick painting. Painting a cardinal bird is the first one in my to do list. I got  a cardinal bird's photo( thanks- Google). I wanted my bird painting to look crisp, so i chose acrylic than watercolor. Acrylics will be more good on canvas, But i made a try on paper.

I first gave a slight yellowish tone to the branches at the back. After completing my bird, the yellow tone of the bird disturbed the look. I changed the color from yellow to brownish white

Vola !!! My painting is done :)

Basics of Quilling

Untill last year i was not aware of this art. While searching for paper crafts in google ,i found out quilling. Its an art done by rolling strips of colored papers into flowers, butterflies, frames and  the list is endless. Believe me or not, i feel this is one of the most simplest and elegant paper art that doesnot require special materials.

All you need for your first quilling work is

- quilling strips ( dont worry we can use color charts cut into 1/8" inch strips :))
- glue
-scissors
-white chart or greeting card sheet
